Since this is one of the dullest tracks I'm going to go with a dull prediction.

You're not the only one - I cunningly changed my ROS / HAM / VET prediction to a HAM / ROS / RAI after Hamilton seemed quicker in FP2... x(

Coming up next after I do the championship update, I'll give a free seminar on how to turn a perfect podium into a single point! Stay tuned!

2016 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX RESULTS

For the third time in four races, a first corner collision eliminated a potential podium selection, and for the second time in as many race weekends Lewis Hamilton had trouble with his car in qualifying. Twelve people didn't foresee that ill fortune would strike the champion once more, and they lost out on any possibility of a win as a result; of the five who correctly predicted Rosberg to win, two didn't react to Vettel's gearbox penalty and put him on the podium; another took a bold gamble on Bottas that at one point in the race looked like it might pay off, but ultimately did not. Only two contestants predicted the correct podium in its entirety, earning themselves a perfect podium and round win a piece; congratulations to cm97 and robins13!

In fact, double congratulations are in order for both; cm97 took an impressive double win both here and in the Pick 10 competition, while robins13's perfect podium - combined with a rare non-score from Bentrovato - carried with it a dominant championship lead.

Race Result

~ 1. cm97 +14 Points
~ 1. robins13 +14 Points
~ 3. Fountoukous13 +8 Points
~ 3. Herb +8 Points
~ 3. Jenson's Understeer +8 Points
~ 6. Exediron +1 Point
~ 6. Icemanjee1 +1 Point
~ 6. Lotus49 +1 Point
~ 6. mcdo +1 Point
~ 6. Remmirath +1 Point
~ 11. Bentrovato +0 Points
~ 11. Black_Flag_11 +0 Points
~ 11. GPG +0 Points
~ 11. Jezza13 +0 Points
~ 11. Mayhem +0 Points
~ 11. Ruste13 +0 Points
~ 11. Saz +0 Points
~ 11. Thrash13 +0 Points
~ 11. TypingChicane +0 Points

~ 20. IDrinkYourMilkshake DNS

robins13 was the big winner from this round, rocketing to an 11-point lead in the championship; a generally low-scoring round saw relatively little movement, although Herb made possibly the largest jump from the back of the entire field to the back of the midfield - Rosberg's luck proved too good for anyone to jinx. A number of contestants who considered betting on Rosberg but decided against it were left ruing their error, none more so than Exediron, who had actually selected Rosberg to win initially and foolishly changed it after watching FP2. He'll be desperate to make up for such a shocking mistake at the next round in Spain.

This round saw many of the individual ties broken, which should be convenient for the knockout cup due to be seeded soon:

Individual Standings - Round Four
1. robins13 -- 36 Points
2. cm97 -- 25 Points
3. Bentrovato -- 24 Points
4. Jenson's Understeer -- 21 Points
5. Icemanjee1 -- 15 Points
6. Black_Flag_11 -- 14 Points (1 Perfect Podium)
7. mcdo -- 14 Points (0 Perfect Podiums)
8. Saz -- 13 Points (2 Wins)
9. Fountoukos13 -- 13 Points (0 Wins)
10. Remmirath -- 12 Points
11. Exediron -- 10 Points
12. GPG -- 9 Points
13. Herb -- 8 Points
~ 14. Jezza13 -- 6 Points
~ 14. Lotus49 -- 6 Points
16. Thrash13 -- 5 Points
~ 17. Mayhem -- 1 Point
~ 17. TypingChicane -- 1 Point
19. Ruste13 -- 0 Points (1 DNS)
~ 20. dizlexik -- 0 Points (3 DNS)
~ 20. theferret -- 0 Points (3 DNS)
~ 22. IDrinkYourMilkshake -- 0 Points (4 DNS)

In the team standings, Fire & Ice once again extend their lead at the top, although a strong challenge from Multi21 seems to be shaping up; Redline GP, participating in their first race since securing title sponsorship, lose another place to Mind Your Manors but hang on to fourth place. Further down the order, Understeer = Mayhem jumps the battling pair of McLotus and defending champions No Limit Excedrin Racing, who are both having a torrid affair of it this year so far. At the back the pressure's on between Crash & Learn and Lucky 13 Racing, the two teams still just separated by two points and battling to escape the ignominious fate of finishing last. As the only team yet to score a round win of any sort, Lucky 13 Racing will be more desperate than ever in Spain.

Team Standings - Round Four
1. Fire & Ice (robins13 & Saz) -- 49 Points
2. Multi21 (Icemanjee1 & cm97) -- 40 Points
3. Mind Your Manors (Black_Flag_11 & Fountoukos13) -- 27 Points
4. Redline GP (Bentrovato & Ruste13) -- 24 Points
5. Understeer = Mayhem (Jenson's Understeer & Mayhem) -- 22 Points
6. McLotus (Lotus49 & mcdo) -- 20 Points
7. No Limit Excedrin Racing (Exediron & GPG) -- 19 Points
8. Crash & Learn (Remmirath & TypingChicane) -- 13 Points
9. Lucky 13 Racing (Thrash13 & Jezza13) -- 11 Points

With Rosberg on the verge of making history with his incredible run of consecutive victories, things have been pretty cushy so far for those riding the Rosberg train, and anyone attempting to step outside has been badly burned. With the next two tracks traditional strongholds of Rosberg, who will be bold enough to bet against the man of the hour and claim the potential windfall? And who can stop robins13 and Fire & Ice?

We'll see in Spain!

I almost went for Kimi instead of Bottas for third.

It all looked good at the start!

Very pleased to be off the mark. Let's hope I can keep some momentum.

Tough weekend in Russia. No luck at this track!! With Hamilton and Vettel's penalties, I never really had a chance. Congrats to robins13 and cm97 though, great weekends.

Certainly doesn't hurt! I think my own aim right now is just to avoid having to partake in the qualification round, so at the moment being in the top-10 after Monaco. Although a couple of places higher wouldn't go amiss ;)

My secret plan is to do poorly enough in the opening rounds that I get to face one of the top seeds and ruin their day when I turn on my mojo ;)

Or maybe I have the Curse of the Two Championships. One cannot do well in both the Pick 3 and the Pick 10 - it throws the universe out of alignment.

What a season so far! I think I picked a good year to take a sabbatical. Very tough to predict what is going on with Kamikaze Kvyat on the track LOL. Good to see you all having fun.

And we were worried that no Maldanado would result in predictable racing

I feel like this is the weekend Hamilton has a weekend without any issues and ultimately wins. Who finishes 3rd I really don't know. My head says Vettel and I may come back and change this prediction, but for now I'm going bold:

1. Hamilton
2. Rosberg
3. Verstappen

Really want to pick Raikkonen over Vettel for third... but then I can't go against the top 2 in the standings for such an obvious race. Hopefully make up some ground in Monaco.

2016 SPANISH GRAND PRIX
Revised Podium Prediction

1. Lewis Hamilton
2. Nico Rosberg
3. Kimi Raikkonen

I'm going bold. This season is already off to a poor enough start that I need to make up some ground, and fast. The conservative route isn't going to work anymore.

EDITED 5/13
