Ah very sorry. I haven’t made a new post in time so don’t know what happens as to whether my initial picks or edited picks count?

I had a feeling it was wrong, hence the 'I think'. I added it up three different times and got three different results, so I just went 'ah fudge it!' and posted the latest one.

Considering how this race went, I hope 77 is still going to be above the halfway mark.

Interestingly, while there's only 17 points between the top 2 in the championship, there's also only 23 points in the battle for rookie of the year. It'll be interesting to see who wins both battles. The rookie fight is more or less a straight head to head now, while there is a mathematical chance of anyone in the top 30 claiming the main prize - basically, if Bentrovato scores a perfect score and the rest boycott the race, it's a narrow championship win. Realistically, there's probably only 3-5 who are likely to win, but anything can happen yet!

I'm getting my predictions in early:

1 HAM
2 LEC
3 VER
4 VET
5 BOT
6 ALB
7 SAI
8 GAS
9 NOR
10 RAI

Wildly off. You missed FP1, and Lewis' penalty hurt you further.

Didn't understand. I posted my picks more about 1 hour before FP1 began as 20 minutes before FP1 starts is the cut off time.

FP1 started at 2pm GMT, according to the F1 website. You posted at 2.09pm.

EDIT:

Apologies. I need to amend your score and one other - my forum settings have daylight savings still in effect.

Another podium, too bad i've wasted a ton of points on FP1 penalties otherwise I might have still been in with a shot.

More realistically, the top score for any given race tends to be less than 200. Nailing the perfect score would yield 300 points, so anyone down to 14th place is in with a realistic shout if they nail their predictions, even if the leaders don't boycott the race! 8)

250, not 300, but yes that's why I asked the top 14 to PM me

Damn, I was hoping for a late climb up the field

You could ban him....

I seem to recall I threatened to ban about 20 people when I didn't win last year too... I'll see where I'm at after a couple of races next year, then start benching people when they get too far ahead :P

there is a mathematical chance of anyone in the top 30 claiming the main prize - basically, if Bentrovato scores a perfect score and the rest boycott the race, it's a narrow championship win.

So I'm just missing out then!!!

However, if everyone boycotts the race, they should be receiving minus 58 points for missing the FP1, 2 & 3. So everyone getting negative points, could make it even more interesting. So I'm still in for the win!

That's not quite how the penalties work, but I like your thinking!

If we wanted to seriously boycott the race, we could all wait until after FP3 and then predict the 10 drivers we think won't be in the race. That would be pretty likely to produce negative results.

That's true, in theory it's possible to gain 275 points per race relative to the leader.

I hadn't considered that... OK, everyone's entries won't be counted but penalised at FP3 rate. Siao7's entry is the top 10 in Abu Dhabi.

Siao7 ends up joint 19th in this scenario!
