I have no clue why I put Bottas behind Vettel, I did the opposite in the top 3 game...

156 points. Not good on a day when I think most people scored a lot better. I had Leclerc in my Autosport GP predictions, but for whatever reason I did the wrong Haas here instead. x(

Round 16: Sochi, Russia

The race start saw pole man Bottas come under pressure from teammate Hamilton but he held him off, the failed attempt to take the lead made Hamilton vulnerable to Vettel but he also managed to hold him off. The interest in the race at that point came from Verstappen, starting near the back with engine related grid penalties, as he quickly made his was through the field into 5th position.

Up front Bottas, Hamilton and Vettel were all running at a similar pace, Bottas pitted first to protect himself from the under cut but Hamilton did not do the same which allowed Vettel to under cut him for position, Hamilton not being helped by being held up whilst lapping a Williams car.

However after he pitted Hamilton was soon onto the back of Vettel and although Vettel defended hard Hamilton managed to find his was past, at this point in the race Verstappen was now leading the race being able to stay out longer on the harder soft tyres, running just in front of Bottas.

At this point in the race with Vettel close to Hamilton, Mercedes decided to issue a team order to Bottas to let Hamilton by in deference to Hamilton leading the WDC title batte against Vettel whilst Bottas is out of contention, this eventually became the lead of the race after Verstappen eventually pitted late in the race for ultra soft tyres.

So the race finished with Hamilton winning from Bottas and Vettel followed home by Raikkonen, Verstappen and Ricciardo and an excellent 7th place for Leclerc.

It's been a while since the first one... 8)

Between this, a Perfect Podium in the top three game, and a race win in the Group Pick'em game, I think I should just go ahead and retire from the PF1 fantasy game field as it's never going to get any better

Sorry guys, but I must bjtch a bit about the results of the Sochi race.
Bottas got royally screwed, just like Barachello back in 2002.
And so did I.
I was the only one among us to pick Bottas for the win with Hamilton 2nd.
Bottas was the fastest driver in Russia, and would have won the race but for team orders.
I've been a hard-core F1 fan since attending Long Beach in 1977.
That's 41 years, and I don't know how many hundreds of races.
Never has there been such subdued emotions in park ferme and on the podium.
That's because everyone knew what the results SHOULD have been.
It was a false, gifted win for Hamilton.
Toto Wolff stole Bottas' second win from him, and he stole my first win in the Pick 10 Competition.
Though I'm certain Hamilton will win the title this year, if he wins by less than 7 points then he'll also deserve to get an asterisk by his name for having been gifted the title by Toto.
Sad.

It sucks, doesn't it fella? Still a podium for me I guess had it played out like that, but you have my sympathy.

Renault's little protest as Monza has cost me and a few others a fair chunk too :(
