Sorry Mayhem but I'm going to pass this year. I have too much going on personally and won't have the time to give racing my attention. Sorry again, and I can HIGHLY recommend Mayhem as a partner to any of you who may be looking for one, if I'd have listened to him we would have won last year.

Cheers and good luck to you all for 2016.

Alright, things are looking pretty good for the championship this year; we've got 7 confirmed teams, which - while it would doubtless elicit doom and gloom predictions for the health of F1 itself should it ever reach such a lowly number - is only one less than we had last year. I'd love if we could get to 10 teams, but we'll see.

As a public service announcement, the following entrants have no team as of yet:

IDrinkYourMilkshake
dizlexik
theferret
Herb

There's also a number of competitors from last year we haven't heard from yet, so I'll give a try at reminding them of the imminent season start.

EDIT:

Also, everyone check out the Top Three Competition voting thread that just went live; give your voice and join in the democratic process. If nobody votes, I'll just take over Bernie-style and make all the decisions myself. :]

I'm in. Was terrible last year in Singles championship, but thanks to Saz we clinched 3rd place in team event. Looking forward to partnering with Saz if she/he is okay.

Last login was the 24th of February, right before I sent out reminders (or started trying to at least - some got stuck in my outbox) so I don't know if you guys will be able to resume your team. Saz was a late joiner last year too, so there's still until Thursday to find out.

Yeah life has been mad lately, and there seemed to be a lot of negative forum stuff that I couldn't deal with, so took a winter break as it was. But things have calmed down, and racing starts up soon, so you should see me around.

So with that said, you can count me in, and would be more than happy to team up witj Robins13 again. We go for the top spot this year

Welcome back; I've added you guys in as the eighth team. I would say make sure to go over to the voting thread and cast your votes, but actually all of the issues look one-sided enough that they're pretty much locked in, so... :uhoh:

Subject to change after watching FP 1 and 2, so long as I do manage to do that before the end of Friday... but here goes.

Australia:
1. Vettel
2. Hamilton
3. Raikkonen

Might as well take a risk on the first race of the season, right? ;)

OP edited to reflect the results of the voting thread. I leave it to Jenson's Understeer to either establish a new thread for the Knockout Cup or just post results in this one - either way, the Knockout Cup will not be tracked in official thread updates.

2016 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX RESULTS

An action packed race still led to a predictable podium, with the expected three drivers from last year merely shuffling position. With places changing throughout the race - and many points hinging on a late attempt by Sebastian Vettel that turned out not to offer any reward - this one was exciting to the end. Three contestants correctly guessed the entire podium and begin their season in the best possible way, picking up a Perfect Podium a piece. Congratulations to Bentrovato, Black_Flag_11, and robins13!

Individual Standings - Round One
~ 1. Bentrovato -- 14 Points
~ 1. Black_Flag_11 -- 14 Points
~ 1. robins13 -- 14 Points
4. Thrash13 -- 5 Points
5. Remmirath -- 3 Points
~ 6. cm97 -- 1 Point
~ 6. Exediron -- 1 Point
~ 6. GPG -- 1 Point
~ 6. Icemanjee1 -- 1 Point
~ 6. Jezza13 -- 1 Point
~ 6. Mayhem -- 1 Point
~ 6. TypingChicane -- 1 Point
~ 13. dizlexik -- 0 Points
~ 13. Fountoukos13 -- 0 Points
~ 13. Herb -- 0 Points
~ 13. IDrinkYourMilkshake -- 0 Points
~ 13. Jenson's Understeer -- 0 Points
~ 13. Lotus49 -- 0 Points
~ 13. mcdo -- 0 Points
~ 13. Saz -- 0 Points
~ 13. theferret -- 0 Points

Team Standings - Round One
~ 1. Fire & Ice (robins13 & Saz) -- 14 Points
~ 1. Mind Your Manors (Black_Flag_11 & Fountoukos13) -- 14 Points
3. Lucky 13 Racing (Thrash13 & Jezza13) -- 6 Points
4. Crash & Learn (Remmirath & TypingChicane) -- 4 Points
~ 5. No Limit Excedrin Racing (Exediron & GPG) -- 2 Points
~ 5. Multi21 (Icemanjee1 & cm97) -- 2 Points
7. Understeer = Mayhem (Jenson's Understeer & Mayhem) -- 1 Point
8. McLotus (Lotus49 & mcdo) -- 0 Points

On the team side, we see Fire & Ice and Mind Your Manors take an early lead on account of a perfect podium a piece from one of their drivers, while defending champions No Limit Excedrin Racing get off to a slow start with only one point from each of their drivers. A sign of things to come, or just a typical Melbourne Mashup? Only time will tell!

Much like Haas coming 5th in the standings after today's race, I'm guessing Crash & Learn coming 4th is not going to last past this race... but I'm happy to score some points. ;) (Although there was a brief period during the race where I thought I might actually have got it completely right. Ah well!)

After all my crap talk I forgot to do it  It was the Paddy's day weekend, I have an excuse!

For the record I only would have scored 1 point so I'm not that bugged I missed it. I'll show up next time, I promise!

There's a chance I won't be able to watch FP1 or FP2 until Friday night, so putting in some preliminary picks now just in case.

Bahrain:
1. Lewis Hamilton
2. Nico Rosberg
3. Kimi Raikkonen

[Edited after FP2.]

If anyone is looking to team up with me I'm still looking for a solid teammate. I know I'm in first place but it will be tough to hang on to this spot without a strong #2 ;)

Bahrain

1. Rosberg
2. Hamilton
3. Vettel
