Indeed.

Shit like this certainly won't hurt her. Which is, of course, part of the objective.

Feel for the Frenchies. Their resilience must be getting eroded. The tension is difficult to imagine. We in London have had a few incidents but there's been gaps between the incidents that bring comfort and their nature has been isolated and immediate. Regular marauding attacks are fecking awful. Then again, societies can be unbelievably robust.

Are you going down the route that islamists want Marine to win? For zee grand kick off?

Police reports say the cops were deliberately targeted, while other -uncorfirmed- ones are referring to a gangster attack which went pear-shaped.

You would have to be freaking stupid to try to rob a store on the Champs Elysees with all those police and armed forces around.

If all robbers were clever, they'd all live rich for 100 years. That being said, such an attempt requires a serious amount of stupidity.

Terrorist attack confirmed on BFMTV, the anti-terrorist public prosecutor just opened an investigation.

The terrorist allegedly pulled beside a police car stationed on the Champs Elysees and opened fire.

These attacks have numerous motivations and objectives but it is fairly well established that one of thee goals is to provoke retaliation that feeds a narative of Islamophobia that helps rally the vulnerable to their cause.

Nothing personal but I really can't bear the irony of these words anymore. But I do appreciate it's the party line.

I do, however, understand the narrative of ISIS wanting to have a final war on their turf to enable their prophecies.

The terrorist shot down was known from the police services, which explains why the anti-terrorist prosecutor stepped in rapidly.

No doubt. But we're talking short-term goals and long-term objectives. The primary, and stated goal, of these attacks is to punish, destabilise and polarise Europe. They want to erode the confidence and resilience of European societies, cause tension between states, increase their defensive postures, create an environment of stress and fear and inflict economic pain. Drawing people to Le Pen assists with that. I don't think, however, that getting her elected will bring their death cult closer to Armagedddon.

I'd be very wary, if I were them and Le Pen let her security forces off the leash. I know the Police are already straining, it may not end like they think it will end.

That said, some left wing guy will probably win the 2nd round and the public will be instructed to try and integrate the jihadis.

You think they will, or should, be worried about a Le Pen win?

Yes, it would appear we live in different worlds.
