Just read it. A few parts are interesting (the loss of meaning of words), but I disagree with almost all the rest. Not impressed.

Yes, it is dead for this year. Had to happen sometime.

Hope they focus on giving their chances to a few more youngsters next year, even if it cost another season.

Too many oldies passed their sell by date in there unfortunately.

Recruitment is decent and I hope they let go a few more of the older players.

So, looks likely we will have Le pen - Macron in the second round.

Have we ever had a president under 40yo?

They already imploded with two candidates running for prez, Hamon being more to the left of the party and Macron to its right. Several socialist figures are already rooting for Hollande's heir (Macron), despite Hamon being the one officially invested by the socialist party. Expect a lot more to come in the upcoming weeks (Hollande asked to some of the most prominent figures of the government to wait for later in the race to get onboard the Macron train). It's actually quite cunning, wait for Macron to face Le Pen in the second round then use the "republican excuse" to go full steam for him and they're set for another 5 years into power.

Melanchon will pick up the remains of Hamon when he ends up with more votes in the first round.

Clyde (w/o Bonnie) in Corsica today…

-When itv'ed by local paper yesterday, said one has to make sure Corsican language won't replace French, and denied the mere existence of political prisoners.
-Fled the press between Bastia airport and first rally place. Spouted some drivel about "failing state" and "combat bulletin".
-Is to hold second speech in a restaurant located amidst a dingy "activity zone" near Aiacciu.

His whole visit so far looks and sounds like a bad digest of everything France said and missed here during the last 3 decades.

Lassalle est comme Poutou: il profite de l'occasion, avec peut-être l'espoir de faire passer une ou deux idées.

Fillon in Biguglia has said something wonderful: trying to impersonate de Gaulle, he asked electors to be an "Army of shadows", quoting a Melville's movie title.
Bad luck, "L'armata di l'ombra" is an independentist anthem supporting the FLNC…

Quote:

Independentists inside the venue, antifascists, left and far-left demonstrators outside…
What has been seen too is the way FN voters are very eager to turn into a lynching mob. On a side note, two of the most violent among them are freshly arrived public servants…

On aonther news, Napoleon Mélenchon wants to create "universal tax", ie French expats would pay taxes in the country they live in PLUS some more to French revenue services. I stumble upon his Marseilles meeting on the radio, and without knowing what it was about, thought for a moment it was some recording of a meeting in the 30s. Overinflated emphasis, crowds answering with a unanimous roar. Frogland is asking for its own dictatorship.

mmmh i don't think it was a freudian slip, and i just read the full transcirpt of her later explanation, it's pretty plum but not Jean Marie level of plum

if politicans, left or right, could actually let the serious historians do their job, without wanking themselves on the rehabilitation of the roman national on one side, and the complete absence of any roman national on the other side, that would be great...

They can't allow this to happen, as each and every lie they utter would be exposed. They have to "launder" whatever they or their predecessors have done, and it starts even before their mandate is over, confer what's happening with Flabby at the mo.

Cépafô. Ils devraient appeler ça l'enculocratie, ça aurait au moins le mérite d'être clair.

The whole carnival is pretty funny in a disgusting way, but AFAIC, I won't vote this time either.

Yup. All of them playing the righteoys pro-justice and cops part, of course.

Small additions:
-people voting for anyone else than Il Juche "will spit blood", accoring to Il Juche himself.
-Penny-Bonnie began being paid on public funds in 1982. Yes, she's the one swearing she never worked for her husband.

Macron getting some "nice" from a couple of German ministers.

I expect the rumor that he is gay to come out in the press in the week prior to the first round!

Not sure.

It will come back if they have already tried. I am not sure how much it matters to the people on the left/center who will vote for him.

Don't know either.

Have you seen how Minute and the Sow's father have gone all mellow on Il Juche, stating he is quite the great orator and legitimate JMLP's heir on that regard?

Feck me, that bloke is a farce. A sad one, but a farce nonetheless:

Quick digest: Il Juche's spokeperson is exposed as someone who didn't read his program. She didn't know until asked he wanted Frogland to join the Bolivarian Alliance (Cuba and Venezuela, observers Russia and Iran)…
