This is pretty much on par with the dreaded thong or the Horner naked pic... Eye watering

Not as bad as them though, so no ban on that photo unless we have a spate of sudden blindness :P

Oh I wasn't asking for a ban, I just thought it was almost getting to that level.

At least your post bumped the thread into the next page now so I won't have to look at it!!

Found on reddit, source appears to be the daily mail website, unfortunately.

Why do charity events in the uk need a celebrity to lose dignity in order to generate donations?

IIRC this was an F2 race he drove a Lola BMW in. I think it was earlier in the year than the F1 race.

That must be correct - the car looks smallish for a F1 car. Thank you!

The race was held on the shorter Sudschleife, not the Nordschleife. Most of the F1 drivers drove in these races back then.
It was in just such a race at the Hockenheimring the following year that we lost Jim Clark.

The year is 1981 and the event was Monaco GP that Gilles won. The info provided here is from Corbis archives.

He had a test with Benetton in 1992 but didn't get the drive.
He also did some touring cars & a class win at Le Mans with Jaguar before he got to F1.

That's fine, sorry I didn't realise it was made by you.

Every time an image is posted here without a source we ask people to cite one or the picture is removed. It's for the same reason as limiting quotes from articles, just to avoid any rights disputes.

Thank you and not a problem. I can understand that regarding disputes etc

I will remember in the future if I post any more images, and make a note of the source if needed

Thanks for the clarification

Nigel Mansell was on podium 14 years straight, 1981-1994! He managed to get there even with the weak cars, such as this 1988 Williams.

I assume you include his Indycar season in 1993 too?
