That was wild, does Hartley have any luck apart from bad luck?

Not sure I'd like to be driving the sister car at this point.

Well Gasly looked to be a bit spooked.

Just saw an onboard from Hamilton and I hope he doesn't have any fillings because they'll have shaken loose by the end of the race. That's going to take a toll on man and machine by the end of the race tomorrow

Sauber looking better every weekend. It wouldn't even be unthinkable for Leclerc to qualy in 7th.

#Seb5 is having a nuisance on his neck so he is missing this very last part. See you in #Quali #BritishGP #FP3

Hmm, I hope this doesn't impact him this weeken

Yes that must be why all the Ferrari powered cars are in the top 10? ;)

You could say that Poker. Even Ericsson has gotten wings now, finishing in 10th. Leclerc is just 2 tenths away from Ricciardo!!!

Ericsson is still 4 tenths slower than the Haas car though so that in itself wouldn't point to the Sauber car itself being quicker than the Haas?

Anyone else read any report regarding Vettel suffering a neck injury today morning? No wonder he's done only 6 laps or so. Him participating in qualifying is in doubts as per the article below:

Hartley won't be taking part in qualy due to car damage. Gasly's participation maybe in doubt as FIA has asked Toro Rosso to change all the components of the suspension on all 4 corners of the car:

Mercedes don't seem to believe in banker laps what with all the yellows and red flags, why take the risk?

I know it's Q1 and you can't read too much into it, but Vettel is two tenths faster than Hamilton but Hamilton is on the slower tyre..

How is Vandoorne so much slower than Alonso here today? Almost one second! Are they running different specs doesn't anyone know?

Not as far as I know but Stoff seemed to damage his car going over a kerb but I don't know if that attributed to it. Not good enough either way unless their cars are wildly different.

No upgrades until Hungary I believe. They halted them after Monaco until they figured out the aero issue which apparently was figured out in Austria so no upgrades as far as I know until Hungary.

Just thought though that they went through a lot of front wings last week so maybe Stoff is using an old one if they couldn't bring enough but I haven't heard anything?

Track conditions must have changed. only Gasly improved and his first run was awful.

Croft's thing this weekend seems to be explaining the nationality of everyone who pops up on screen for some reason.

Looks tight at the front!

It's believed he suffered a small neck injury today morning. His participation in qualy was also doubtful. Seems he's fine considering he's on pole!

These cars are about as close as two different cars can get around here. Top job Lewis. 👍

What a close qualifying! Was on the edge of my seat. Well done to Hamilton, great lap in the end. I'm surprised Kimi came 3rd, as he went purple in S1 and S3 - must have had a relatively poor S2. But the cars look pretty equal here, which I was not expecting! Great qualifying

This is a real close battle between Mercedes and Ferrari here isn't it? Very exciting stuff. Kind of reminds me of the days of Ferrari vs. McLaren around the turn of the century.

Thrilling.

Was hoping for Kimi to snatch pole though - what a story and effort that would have been.

I was just going to ask the question on Kimi's sector 2, will be interesting to see the sector times. Enjoyed that quali.

Kimi said he locked his front into T16, which is a shame. Not a massive mistake as mistakes go, but happy to see him on it here
