Not sure this looks like a great idea, as it’s a full screen won’t it become victim to oil and dirt build up. Unlike a helmet there will be no tear off option.

the articles above say they are working on tear offs

Yes but how often does an f1 car pit compared to other similar motorsports? And having a driver peel a tear off strip mid race from a windshield/ screen would not be ideal.

Not as often as NASCAR but then again the cars race a hell of a lot closer in NASCAR for a hell of a lot longer than they do in F1 and they seem to cope fine with the oil and dirt.

I've always been against mandatory pitstops, such as we have these days. But if such stops remain mandatory, at least one stop will be made every race. If Le Mans drivers can cope with a dirty windscreen till their next stop, supposedly so can F1/Indy drivers.

Thanks for posting that visorcam footage Blinky! I'm much impressed; by the view and by the Aeroscreen. Do you know whether the lens is at eye level?

The camera was mounted above the visor.
Thanks! So the driver's view of things is less than what we saw. I suppose a screen fully integrated into the design of the car chassis might improve the driver's view.

it isn't for drives to tear off, there is a humorous exchange about that in the interview with pruett
