That lap from Murph was just something else. They have never gone into the 7s until that weekend and then he bypasses it entirely. Now they're doing low 4's.

If anyone ever gets a chance, or an inkling to attend, do it. I ticked that box a few years back. It's truly an incredible experience.

Will definitely be watching, my favourite of any motor race all year. Will just have to get updates of the F1 tomorrow, that looks to be a boring Hamilton mercedes fest anyway.

What a great race event and thanks for the video links. If I go I'll have to remember to bury some beer....and whisky.

I’ll be watching this live, then watching a recording of the f1, unless Bathurst finishes very early.

Ps-wet race almost certain.
PPS- 2.03.8 for pole.

That's the pole lap from earlier today. Lap of the Gods MKII.

Thanks JackAttack for posting this. I wouldn't put it up there with Murphs but Christ it was a good lap.

As a lifelong Ford and Dickie Johnson fan it'd be very sweet to see the #17 cross the finish line 1st tomorrow.

JackAttack   . Sorry mate but unfortunately your name conjures memories of a former member from a few years back who had a remarkably similar name to yours, was a one eyed Vettel supporter and was also one of the biggest pains in the ar$e i'd enountered in my 7 yrs on this site.

People like Zoue, Covelent & pokerman would probably remember this, I was going to say idiot, but i'll stick with individual.

Just thought i'd mention that. Cheers

I don't like 'comparing' them as far as who did a better job etc. But the feeling I got watching this lap reminded me of Murph's, so for mine they're pretty well on a level all of their own.

When I say feeling, I mean the absolutely gobsmacked, spine tingling feeling you'd just seen something really seriously special.

Hahahahaha. All good mate, I enjoyed that, I tried signing up with a name similar to this and got bounced out so obviously I got beaten to it.

My son claims it is cheaper for hil and mate to go to the Bathurst than the British GP at silverstone.
He usually stays 4 days and all passes, is this really possible?

Bathhurst next year sounds like a good gig if it is

That brought back memories. When Bathurst was first shown in the UK, Dick Johnson was one of the drivers who had a camera in the car, and was mic-ed up to speak with the commentators. Loved him from that day to this - today's motorsport would benefit from more characters like him.

If the cost of attending this years Australian Grand Prix is a guide, Bathurst is an absolute packet cheaper, and tbh the spectacle is better.

Four day GA pass + paddock access is about $200.

Don't quote me, but I think I read motorsport.com are streaming it globally?

Proper good race this. Not quick, but proper endurance race. Richie Stanaway is a star.

Hoping Mostert can come back during his final stint.

4 nights in the hotel more or less cover the flights, so how do you get to the track, and where to stay?

Another chaotic Bathurst 1000 result.

Good to see Erebus & Dave Reynolds get the win, they really are a small team and Dave has been threatening to pull out a good result for years.

First time I can remember a wet start and raining for so long in the race. Maybe 2000 was the last year like that?

It gifted us an extra hour too! The 2016 event ran for 6 hours and 19 mins, this year it was 7 hours and 11 mins.

F1 holds more interest for me than Supercars these days, but this event is an exception. It's just a special race.
