Malaysia wasn't particularly impressive, IMO. With the Ferraris out of the way, it should have been a relatively straightforward 1-2. I don't think Red Bull did Ricciardo any favours by leaving him out so long, but there again that's often been his strategy, so that he can pile on the pressure at the end. Only this time, he didn't. Threw away a 2nd step, IMO

Yeah - I think the Red Bulls at least had the dominance (relative to the Mercedes) to at least pile Hamilton under huge pressure for P2 but it never came that close to materialising. Should have been a Red Bull 1-2.

I think Ricciardo does tend to play the long game and depends on things being as he wants them late in the race. Max is FLASH-BANG-WALLOP do it now worry later, the exact opposite. Max did a brill job no doubting it, but things fell right for him. He started infront of the Ferrari's, one Merc and the other RBR and flat footed Hamilton, who was in the mind set of getting more points than Vettel and was not much concerned with Max, so in clean air, and able to manage his race, which is a big advantage
