Formula E is back in business for its Season 3, with upgraded cars, new drivers, new rules. And what's better to start with a brand new street circuit, maybe in the heart of one of the most iconic cities in the world?

I'm really hoping that Andretti deliver a strong car as I'm pretty damn excited to see Frijns and da Costa in the same team, but pre-season suggests they'll probably be fighting for minor points at the very most. Which is a shame. Sort of expecting Buemi to be the title frontrunner with di Grassi, Bird, and possibly Vergne in the mix as well. Be great if all four teams are capable of winning races!

I'm moderately hyped, and happy to see that the circuit actually looks pretty decent!

Sadly, I won't be able to watch it...

Thanks for the TV schedule and link, but when I go to the listing it does not say its on. Am I just being thick, or is it a problem?

I struggled with that website too, it's terribly designed. Scroll right to the top to choose the right day. Pick Sunday and it's there at 8.30am

Went there and still no joy, had to select 5 instead of my5, but had to wait about 40 sec for it to update. I'm just impatient :D

Is that an optical illusion, or does that car have significant negative rake on it? And if so, why would you set a car up that way?

I do like that livery, but their red S2 livery was easily my favourite. Kind of disappointed to see the back of that.

Optical illusion I think, negative rake basically generates lift at the back of the car and that just increases wheelspin and reduces traction.

Welcome Team Techeetah!

The chinese-based team took over Team Aguri and is set to be one of the title candidates thanks to the new Renault motor!

And look at that beauty!

Techeetah's livery is absolutely gorgeous. Just a shame they had to accompany the launch of it with an exercise in objectifying women.

Not that I condone it but it's pretty commonplace across motorsport. It's one of those traditions that I wouldn't mind seeing the back of

I'm hoping it rains. We've still not had a proper wet race in 2 years!

I like the look of the track though, would be better without turns 3 and 4, but Fe do like their chicane's!

I've been following NASCAR this year, I was planning my whole night around tonight's NASCAR race starting at midnight. Hurricane Matthew has postponed it til tomorrow...

...but no worries! No better time than now to watch my first Bathurst 1000! 1am til well after the F1 starts at 6am. Keep it going til the FE at 9am :D

I think I'd die if there was any MotoGP on

Great to see Piquet back up there, was a dismal season for NextEV last year. Also great to see that eDAMs aren't going to run away with things again this year.

That corner where there was a first lap crash is ridiculous. It's clearly a passing place on the way in yet so tight there is not room. This sport is potentially being ruined by dreadful circuits.

Di Grassi pulls off a crazy overtake, nailing about 3 cars in quick succession. Now he gets the black orange circle :x

Feel sorry for Piquet. Had the race completely under control and Bird was no threat behind

On the bright side, NexTEV finally looks like a good car. He won the championship in 2014/15 when the machinery was spec. Piquet is going to be a force to be reckoned with this season.

pitting under the SC was the right thing to do, unless they run out of power near the end.

EDIT: wtf everyone from 5th down is lapped? OK, pitting behind the SC definitely was the right thing to do.

The cream always seems to rise to the top in FE. Buemi and di Grassi just have such a good handle on this formula

It's just that the timing puts everyone as +1 lap when the leader has passed the start/finish line and the others haven't yet. Timekeeping is overall very weak - why don't we have continuous time intervals shown? They could alternate it with the bat percentage on the visual on the left. Would be heaps better.

Crazy race all in all. For Di Grassi, Frijns, D'Ambrosio to finish where they did is almost crazy :)
