Deffo a jump. Seems that he got off lightly.
Alonso got a DT or a 20 sec time penalty ... that may change the result!

Hope the title doesnt get decided this way

it's not a jump start if the wheels are rotating or not isn't relevant it's if the car is on the sensors in the sensors in the track when the lights go out

Rule is a rule.
It should treat everyone the same.
Why penalise Alonso and cost him the title in 2010 then. I would agree with him if he complains.

Just saying

I felt the same way ,,,
But it is - let the lights come on and then see the tyre marks ... keep the corner out fr the lights and you will see.

And ppl on other forums said it was clear even in normal vid.

Edit: BAsically if you can spot the tyres marks moving when eth red is on - its a jump start !

If he'd jumped the start the laser across his grid box to detect excessive movement would have triggered. He clearly was creeping the slightest amount but it was obviously such a small amount not even a very accurate laser could detect it. He gained nothing from it.

it is the same for everybody

Quote:
38.13 Either of the penalties under Articles 16.3b) or c) will be imposed for a false start judged using an FIA supplied transponder which must be fitted to the car as specified.

no FIA transponder activation no penalty see how beautifully simple the rule is

Alonso's was visible by the naked eye, Lewis' wheels haven't even done a quarter of a rotation by the time the lights go out, for all intents and purposes he was in his pitbox when the lights went out.

If we were going to go strictly by the rules, would it matter if he gained nothing from it?

After all, if he jumped the start, he jumped the start.

Why is this even being discussed. Rules on this are unusually clear by FIA standards. Hamilton triggered no sensor, no investigation was started, no penalty handed out. This looks like a desperate attempt to get Rosberg another 14 points in his lead against Hamilton, nothing more.
