We know how unreliable planet f1 can be at news stories. But if your interested. Its on the website.

Can't see how it makes much of an impact if I'm honest given he was only in the role for about two months.

Ted Kravitz said it was because he was frustrated because the money from their swiss investors never materialised. Although the official reason is to "spend more time with his family."

To be fair to Caterham they have kept Kobayashi on who is as good a driver as they need given the circumstances. They are completely a 1 car team with Ericsson in the other seat, but if his sponsorship is helping keep the team afloat it's a necessary evil. Even Kobayashi's biggest detractors wouldn't call him "awful," just take a peek at his record in F1 from 2009-2012.

Sauber's is questionable. I don't think Sutil is as bad as people make out but his weight appears to be really working against him this year in an already overweight chassis. So unfortunately he may as well not be there, he occasionally makes Gutierrez look half competent!

That sounds like he spent 2 full months only at Caterham. Or more probable he concluded that Caterham is just a lost/hopeless case.
And really will we miss this team? I really won't. If they survive we won't have 1 but 2 pay drivers next year who might be even worse than Ericsson. And not even that will save them.

It still hasn't changed anything then. Caterham were crumbling, they still are crumbling. The remaining crumbs will be swept into a bin by the end of the year most likely.

Sauber are about to get a tonne of new cash thanks to a new Canadian billionaire who either already has or is about to buy the team. They'll be fine.

It's Caterham, Marussia and Lotus who look likely to fold soon.

I think that is the point; if your new CEO and team principal quits after only a few weeks that's obviously a very worrying sign.

Although Marussia would get a 90 million payout with their 2 points so hopefully they should be ok.

That still might not be enough to save the team according to paddock rumours. The owners want out ASAP and no one looks close to buying the team. The current owners likely to stick around till season's end so they can claim their prize money but then scarper while they are just about ahead of themselves.

Possibly but they were in big trouble anyway. I don't think that changed when the new owners took over given how dodgy the Swiss/Arabic connection was strongly rumoured to be.

Yes I agree with you, I think this news could be a sign that there are big problems behind the scenes.

Or maybe it really is for personal reasons as Albers says. Time will tell.
